We work in partnership with Texas Cemetery Restoration to help local cemeteries like Young, Collinsworth, Old City, and Davis restore and preserve their aging headstones & markers.
We have also installed new fences, gates, driveways and walking paths in these historic cemeteries.
In addition to cemetery restoration we also research, write, and install educational wayside signs for historic locations like cemeteries, trails, and other significant sites.
We strive to make Plano's historic cemeteries appealing and accessible to both locals and tourists. We hold annual events that show visitors many of Plano's hidden historical assets and cultivate a more informed population.
These events include Tombstone Mysteries, Hike Through History, Veterans Day and Wreaths Across America.
We also work work with scouts who have aspirations of attaining their rank of Eagle Scout.
Their are numerous opportunities for Eagle Scout projects in our North Texas historic cemeteries.
Over the years we have completed multiple projects at Bethany Cemetery. Projects have included a new fence, a new gate & driveway, gravestone restoration & cleaning and wayside signs.
Bowman Cemetery, in East Plano, was one of the first cemetery restoration project completed by the Plano Conservancy. The restoration was completed in 2012.
In 2019 we received a Preservation Texas Honor Award for the resotoration of Davis Cemetery. Davis Cemetery is a historic African American cemetery located in Plano's Douglass Community.
In 2014 a private donor asked us to restore this historic cemetery in Frisco, Texas.
Leach Thomas is a unique small cemetery in East Plano. In 2015 we installed a walkway to create a path through the cemetery.
Old City is another cemetery where we have completed multiple projects. The projects included GPR assessment, gravestone cleaning & repair, a new fence and wayside signs.
Plano Mutual Cemetery is one of the largest cemeteries in Plano. Due to it's size projects have been done in Phases. We have completed 4 Phases as of 2021.
In 2019 we were fortunate to partner with the Collin County Historical Commission and the Routh Cemetery Association to restore Routh Cemetery.
During the storms of October 20th, 2019, Plano's Young and Rowlett Cemeteries received major damage. We worked with the City of Plano to acquire emergency funding to restore these cemeteries.
The restoration of Young Cemetery was completed in 2018. The cemetery is landlocked by an apartment complex to the west and a golf course to the south and east. The one-acre site was set aside for family members and friends who helped settle the area near the present-day crossroads of Plano, McKinney, Frisco and Allen.
Wreaths Across America is an annual event which honors our country's deceased veterans.
