Cemetery Restoration

Gravestone Restoration & Repair

We proudly partner with Texas Cemetery Restoration to preserve and restore aging headstones and markers in historic cemeteries including Young, Collinsworth, Old City, and Davis. In addition to restoration work, we've enhanced these sites by installing new fences, gates, driveways, and walking paths, improving accessibility while protecting their historic integrity.

Wayside Signs

In addition to our cemetery restoration efforts, we design and install educational wayside signs, research and write content that brings history to life at historic cemeteries, trails, and other significant sites.

Have an idea for a sign or location? We'd love to hear it! Contact us - we welcome your ideas!

Heritage Cemetery Tours

We strive to make Plano's historic cemeteries welcoming and accessible for both local and visitors. Over the years, we've hosted events like Tombstone Mysteries, Hike Through History, Veteran's Day ceremonies, and Wreaths Across America, each designed to highlight hidden historical gems and foster a more connected, informed community.

We’re always exploring new ways to bring local history to life, and we welcome fresh ideas and collaborations to keep that tradition going!

Supporting Eagle Scouts

We’re proud to support Scouts on their journey to Eagle Scout by offering a variety of impactful project opportunities in our historic cemeteries across North Texas.

Cemetery Projects

Bethany Cemetery

Over the years we have completed several improvement projects at Bethany Cemetery, including a new fence, gate, driveway, gravestone restoration and cleaning, and the addition of the educational wayside signs.

Bowman Cemetery

Bowman Cemetery in East Plano was one of the Plano Conservancy's first restoration projects, completed in 2012. This early effort helped lay the foundation for our ongoing work in preserving Plano's historic cemeteries.

Davis Cemetery

Dunaway Cemetery

Davis Cemetery, a historic African American cemetery in Plano’s Douglass Community, was restored with great care and respect, earning us a Preservation Texas Honor Award in 2019 for our efforts.

Dunaway Cemetery

Dunaway Cemetery

In 2014, a private donor invited us to restore a historic cemetery in Frisco, Texas. The project not only revived the site, it also helped the community reconnect with an important part of its past.

Leach Thomas Cemetery

Leach Thomas is a small but historically significant cemetery tucked away in East Plano. In 2015, we installed a walkway to create a clear and respectful path through the site making it more accessible for visitors and helping preserve the space for future generations.

Old City Cemetery

Old City is another cemetery where we have completed multiple projects. The projects included GPR assessment, gravestone cleaning & repair, a new fence and wayside signs.

Plano Mutual Cemetery

Plano Mutual Cemetery

Plano Mutual Cemetery is one of the largest cemeteries in Plano. Due to it's size projects have been done in Phases. We have completed 4 Phases as of 2021.

Routh Cemetery

Plano Mutual Cemetery

In 2019 we were fortunate to partner with the Collin County Historical Commission and the Routh Cemetery Association to  restore Routh Cemetery.

Emergency Storm Restoration

Emergency Storm Restoration

During the storms of October 20th, 2019,  Plano's Young and Rowlett Cemeteries received major damage. We worked with the City of Plano to acquire emergency funding to restore these cemeteries.

Young Cemetery

Emergency Storm Restoration

The restoration of Young Cemetery was completed in 2018. The cemetery is landlocked by an apartment complex to the west and a golf course to the south and east.  The one-acre site was set aside for family members and friends who helped settle the area near the present-day crossroads of Plano, McKinney, Frisco and Allen.
