Our Interns do Incredible Things

Undergraduate or Graduate Students

The Interurban Railway Museum is looking for motivated college students who are pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in applicable fields of study like Historic Preservation, History, Museum Studies, Anthropology, English, etc.

We hire 1-2 paid interns each semester.

We have already hired for Fall 2018! Please check back in November 2018 for information about Spring 2019 Internships.

Real-World Experience

We provide an opportunity to gain valuable real-world historic preservation experience and are always willing to work with professors and colleges to help students earn course credit. All of our interns are paid above Texas minimum wage and have the opportunity for raises based upon quality of work and duration of their internship.

Tailored to Your Degree Program

Every intern gets a semester-long project tailored to their degree program and skills that's meant to challenge them and give them solid work for their employment portfolios.

Prior interns have had the opportunity to draft nominations for the  National Register for Historic Places, write books about Plano history, and assist with historical research for wayside signs and exhibits at the Interurban Railway Museum.
